Emissions After-Treatment Team Leader

BOSAL is looking to strengthen the R&D team in Lummen with an Emission After-treatment Team leader. You will lead and coordinate the Core Competence Team Emission After-Treatment. This cross-departmental and cross-functional team works on multiple multidisciplinary product development projects and innovation projects for the emission after-treatment systems of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off-road vehicles of the next generation, both for gasoline engines and diesel engines. You will assure the maintenance and further development of the core competencies for after-treatment systems, related to design methodologies and tools (both simulations and testing). You will manage the EAT innovation roadmap, accounting for new trends and legislative drivers as well as customer needs. You will have a key role in maintaining contacts in the industry, with research institutions, and in establishing an industry-leading position for Bosal.  

BOSAL is an established global manufacturer of automotive and industrial equipment, both for the original equipment market and the aftermarket. BOSAL consists of 12 plants and 5 R&D facilities across the globe. The Emission Control Systems division is mainly focusing on supplying solutions for emission controls, energy management, and sound design to OEM customers in the automotive industry. Key customers include global players such as General Motors, Volkswagen group, Suzuki, Nissan, Renault, Ford, etc. Through the global spread of the ECS facilities, BOSAL is able to localize global programs more efficiently and deliver customers’ needs for a larger range of products and technologies.

 

   

Responsabilities

  • Leading and coordinating the multidisciplinary and cross departmental Core Competence Emission After-Treatment
  • Leading and coaching the functional engineers for Emission After-Treatment, responsible for the emissions related functionality of the products.
  • Developing initiatives to maintain, build, disseminate Emission After-Treatment know how and competences within the CCT and the larger R&D organization such as related to design guidelines/standards, emissions regulations, simulations and testing.
  • Supporting the customer development projects with your expertise, and allocating functional engineers EAT to the customer development projects.
  • Managing the Emissions Aftertreatment product & innovations roadmap 
  • Initiating and coordinating EAT related innovation projects
  • Interfacing with the OEMs, industrial partners and research institutions on the topic of EAT. Present and publish at conferences.

 

 

   

Requirements

Skills
  • Industry leader with proven track record in Emission After-Treatment design and development with at least 5 years of recent experience
  • Education: Master in Engineering Science or PhD
  • Expertise in flow dynamics, thermodynamics, and emissions
  • Experience with state-of-the-art EAT, both gasoline, and diesel, such as electrically heated catalysts, SCR
  • Inventor of EAT related patents
  • Speaker at conferences
  • Strong team leader capabilities
  • Flexible and entrepreneurial attitude
  • International mindset

Fluent in English, knowledge of German or Dutch is an asset, as are other languages
